Delete in the app
The main way to close your account is in TaxCycle: open Settings, then Account, then Delete account (labels may differ slightly by version). That starts closure of your account and removal of your personal data as described below and in our Privacy Policy.

If you cannot delete in the app

Email us from the same address you use for TaxCycle. We will confirm your identity and complete the request as soon as we can.

What is removed

After deletion we remove or anonymise personal data tied to your account, including:

  • Your profile and app settings
  • Income and expense records
  • Uploaded documents and receipts
  • Notes and similar content you added in the app

Deletion is normally permanent. Export or save anything you need (for your files or HMRC) before you delete.

HMRC and MTD

Closing TaxCycle does not withdraw or change submissions you have already sent to HMRC. HMRC keeps its own records of your filings and obligations.

What we may retain

We sometimes retain a small amount of information where the law requires it, or briefly for security, fraud prevention, or to resolve a dispute. We limit this to what is needed and delete it when no longer required.

App stores and billing

TaxCycle is free today. If you ever subscribe through an app store, deleting your TaxCycle account does not automatically cancel a store subscription—manage that in your Apple or Google account if it applies.
